Josephine Stellato is the Director of Finance and Administration and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Township offices, personnel and programs. Jo assists the Supervisor in developing the levies and budgets and monitoring investments. She reports directly to the Supervisor and Board of Trustees and is the liaison to the social service agencies funded by the Township. Jo writes the Township’s quarterly newsletter, brochures and coordinates website publication. Thelma Talamantes is Wheeling Township’s Director of General Assistance. She qualifies residents for financial assistance and administers benefits through the state-mandated General Assistance program. She acts as an information and referral source for other services, does outreach in the community, and is responsible for the Township’s Food Pantry, the Adopt-A-Family Program and Access to Care and Mobile Dental Clinic intake. Sue Ellen Burlini is the Township’s Director of Senior and Disabled Services. Her duties include overseeing the transportation operation, Meals on Wheels, Friendly Visitor and Health Screening Services. Sue also hosts a variety of educational forums and support groups and represents Wheeling Township on a number of Committees established to enrich the lives of the elderly and disabled. Linda Hallett is the Township's Administrative Assistant and secretary to the Supervisor. Her duties include the upkeep and maintenance of the building, meeting room rental, procurement of supplies, and scheduling of staffs vacation schedules. Jane Bernard is the Wheeling Township Deputy Assessor. She assists the Assessor with the operation of the department and works with one full-time and four part-time employees. Jane’s responsibilities include assisting residents with assessment appeals, filing property tax refund applications, homeowner and senior exemptions, and senior freeze exemptions. Tom Neitzke is the Wheeling Township Deputy Highway Commissioner. Under the direction of the Highway Commissioner, Tom works with independent contractors to repair and maintain streets, storm sewers, and street signs along the 5 miles of unincorporated roads.
